Project 2 

The Plan

In my model, I took inspiration from Toyo Ito's Sendai Mediatheque. I was inspired by its internal and external geometry especially in the longitudinal, circular shapes of the stairs as well as the open spaces. Additionally, Zaha Hadid's unique fluidity in her architecture and Franks Gehry's distinctive combination of surfaces as seen in the Walt Disney Concert Hall were also large influences.

 

The moving elements of my model is situated in the moving workshops rooms on the ground level which would rotate out to allow more light into the space as well as connect to the Material Science building on campus.
