EXP 2
The Architecture
The theory behind my model was to visually deconstruct
in order for a transformation. In my model, I aimed to create a sense of
separated parts that form one solid, unified form. This can be seen in the
large amounts of glass utilised instead of concrete walls on the exterior
facades to generate and also emphasise the notion of the large structures that
sit on top of the pillars. The roof explores and takes influence from Frank
Gehry's architecture such as the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Guggenheim Museum
Bilbao in the numerous large structural pieces that bend and fold into one
another. Thus, as a whole, the building transforms into a singular structure.
The bridge is integrated within the workshop space and extends or contracts to increase
space or transport people.
